Fishmeal and Fish Oil Plants
Blumar has 5 fishmeal and fish oil plants located in Caldera, San Vicente (Talcahuano), Rocuant (Talcahuano), Coronel y Corral.
Fresh pelagic fish caught by its own industrial fleet and by artisan fleets is used as raw material, run through a controlled and monitored process to ensure adequate cooking, pressing, separation, evaporation and drying at low temperatures in order to be transformed into two high quality products:

Fishmeal: a highly-digestible protein source containing a stable content of essential amono acids.

Fish oil: a source of essential fatty acids.
Both products have high contents of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (DHA, EPA, DPA) that can be used as supplements in aquaculture feed.
Freezing Plants
Blumar has two modern freezing plants located in Talcahuano equipped with the latest and most advanced technology available to the international fishing industry.
The Freezing Plant processes horse mackerel and mackerel. This plant has incorporated the latest generation of packing and freezing or Norwegian origin and has a capacity of 475 tons of frozen fish.
The Plant of Filleting produces high quality products with added value. It processes mainly Gayi Hake and Hoki, as well as other species brought in daily b the company’s fleet.
The raw material is delivered by the company’s fleet, product is palletized and taken into de Cold Storage. Blumar has a Cold Storage with a capacity of 13.000 tons.
Coated Fish Plant
Located in Rocuant, Talcahuano, this plant works with the same high standards that distinguish all the company’s facilities. The use of latest technology assures products of the best quality, allowing the development of new ones to keep up to date with market trends and obtain customer’s satisfaction.
A wide range of breaded and battered products is made by using raw material caught by its own fleet.
